Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program

VITA program provides free tax preparation assistance to individuals with low to moderate incomes, as well as those with disabilities and non-English speakers. The goal is to ensure that these groups have access to accurate tax filing and can benefit from available credits and deductions.

Program Services

  • Basic Tax Return Preparation: Assistance with preparing and filing federal tax returns.
  • Credit Claims: Guidance on claiming available tax credits, such as the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Child Tax Credit.
  • Special Needs: Services are adapted to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities and those who are not fluent in English.

Who Can Apply

  • Generally, available to individuals and families making $64,000 or less annually.
  • Individuals with disabilities and those with limited English proficiency.
