Publish Her

Publish Her is dedicated to providing resources to female-identifying business owners and authors. TheBusiness Impact Grant (BIG) program is for women of color business owners. With support from community partner BankCherokee, Publish Her will award a $5,000 grant to a woman of color whose business is making a difference in the lives of others and the world.

Who Can Apply

  • You must be a legal resident of the U.S.
  • 21 years of age or older and a woman of color business owner.
  • Your business must be 100 percent women-owned, a legally established business entity in the U.S. (established for one year or more), and generate $50,000 or more in annual revenue.
  • If selected as one of 10 qualifiers, you must be willing to submit a two-minute video about your business and its impact, and encourage the public to vote for you.

  • Applications are currently closed, but please check back soon for updates on when the application period will reopen.

Helpful tips

  • The winner will receive a $5,000 grant and is responsible for all taxes and fees associated with grant receipt and/or use.
  • Winners forfeit eligibility to win all future grants from Publish Her.

How Does It Work

Complete the Application

Submit an application.

Selection Process

The application process runs from June through August.
After the application period closes, the review team will assess all submissions.
Ten applicants will be selected as qualifiers.

Public Voting

The ten qualifiers will be featured by Publish Her and BankCherokee during September.
The public will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite business from the top 10 qualifiers.

Grant Award

The grant will be awarded in October to celebrate National Women Business Owners Month.
