Kennedy Center Internship Program

The Kennedy Center Internship Program is a holistic and rigorous professional development initiative designed to elevate you as a future leader in the arts, culture, and non-profit sectors. You will spend significant time at the Kennedy Center in individual placements, gaining valuable work experience and technical skills in your chosen field. Additionally, you will engage in various components of the internship curriculum to enhance your leadership potential and fluency in the non-profit and cultural sectors.

Who Can Apply

  • Applicants must be rising sophomores, juniors, or seniors enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program. Recent graduates (up to 6 months post-degree) who are not enrolled in a graduate program are also eligible.
  • Candidates should commit to 25-40 hours a week for the full term and be able to reliably commute to the Kennedy Center at least twice a week for events. International applicants must have a valid visa, and all applicants must have a local address in DC, MD, or VA.
  • International applicants are encouraged to apply but must provide proof of visa at the time of application, as the Kennedy Center does not sponsor visas.
