The Emerging Leaders Internship Program, sponsored by Walmart, is a semester-long initiative designed to develop and empower young leaders. The program equips participants with the skills, experience, and network to drive positive change in Washington, D.C., and their local communities. Interns are placed in congressional offices, committees, subcommittees, or federal agencies, gaining hands-on experience in public service and governance.
Who Can Apply
- Minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale
- U.S. citizenship or work permit needed (Jan 10 – May 01, 2026)
- Full-time availability required upon acceptance
- Should be a recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree, no more than 2 years removed by the internship program start date
- Familiarity with federal legislative process, U.S. Congress, Congressional Black Caucus, and related policy
- Superior analytical, oral, and written communication skills
